Having just moved back from LA our clients tasked us with creating a light & modern space to add a little bit of California to this beautiful restored Victorian hospital building. Our brief was to create a space for our clients to retreat to, a calm and timeless space to call home after years of touring and travelling the world. Having worked in the music industry for over a decade, our discerning clients have stayed in all the best hotels but craved a place to call home. With great style references and a shared creative passion, we loved creating the concept for their home.
The beautiful lateral space is punctuated by large sash windows, leading you through to the large open plan living space. Finished with white oak herringbone floors and soft white walls we created a neutral and warm palette accented by carefully curated iconic vintage pieces and one-off antiques. This was the perfect backdrop for introducing more contemporary pieces and carefully selected bespoke elements. We particularly loved the hand-crafted bar stools we commissioned to sit at the kitchen island. Expertly upholstered in a rich mustard velvet they added character to the modern kitchen.
The high ceilings and large blank walls were crying out for art. As part of our brief we also sourced a complete art collection for our clients. Using a curated mix of original pieces, lithographs and prints we added life into this architecturally beautiful home.
